Magnuson Hotels enters 2021 with expansion in California, New York, Indiana and Massachusetts.

Magnuson Hotels, a top 20 global chain, today announced the addition of hotels in California, New York, Indiana and Massachusetts to the Magnuson Independent collection.

Magnuson states that the hotels are the latest in the USA and UK to begin preparations for 2021’s 30% increase in US hotel revenues projected by STR.

The projected 2021 growth is estimated by STR to come from a 25% increase in room demand and a  RevPAR increase of more than 30%. The 2021 RevPAR forecast is notable because the single strongest RevPAR growth year ever recorded by STR was an increase of 8.6% in 2005.

“We anticipate a significant wave of new independent hotel affiliations in 2021 as hoteliers ready for increased occupancies from leisure and the non-leisure market segments of construction, medical, government, public safety, security,” states Thomas Magnuson, CEO. “As lockdowns ease, domestic leisure travel will be driven by the double effect of pent up demand  and increased savings rate, with an estimated 70% of US and Canadian travellers stating plans to take a vacation in 2021.”
